It was majorly renovated from 2005 to 2008 to provide the latest facilities. It is the fourth-largest stadium in Europe and one of the regular venues for musical concerts.

It is owned and operated by the Rugby Football Union. Allianz purchased the naming rights of the ground for 10 years in 2024. It is one of the venues in Europe to host Six Nations Championship.

We have published a couple of maps for the convenience of visitors. These are also helpful in choosing the best viewing seats during rugby union, American football games, and other sports.

Best Seats for Rugby

Best seats for international and club matches are in the Centre Lower and Middle Tier of the South and North Stands. These positions sit closest to the halfway line and offer excellent, balanced views of the entire pitch, making it easy to follow open play, rucks, and tactical kicking. The middle rows of these central sections are often preferred because they are elevated enough to see both ends of the field without being too far from the action.

Avoid seats in the extreme corners or high upper tiers behind the posts, as these can feel too angled or distant, making it harder to follow fast back-and-forth play.

Twickenham Allianz Stadium Concerts Seating Plan

The largest rugby stadium in the world is also regularly used to host musical concerts and other events. It can roughly accommodate 55000 visitors.

A performance stage is set up on the field, along with temporary arrangements to accommodate the crowd in front of it. The temporary arrangements contain the seating areas and standing areas on the pitch. The Stand behind the stage is non-useable, and it can accommodate up to 55000 visitors depending on the arrangements.

It has reduced capacity during the musical concerts as the stands and rows behind and to the side of the stage are unusable. The location of the drop points, admission doors, lifts, stand with names, row numbers, ticket booking office, nearby streets, etc are depicted on the Allianz Stadium Seating arrangement chart for concerts.

Best Seats for Concerts

The seats in front of the stage are some of the best seats as they are in close proximity and visitors can see their favourite artist performing at Twickenham Stadium. Central sections of the Lower and Middle Tiers in the North Stands offer excellent sound and sightlines. These seats give a balanced perspective of the stage and production without being too far back.

If the stage is at one end, then side sections near the halfway line often provide the clearest view of the performance and lighting effects. Avoid extreme upper corners and seats behind the stage, as these locations can sometimes have restricted views or feel distant from the action.

Accessibility Seating

Twickenham Stadium offers accessible seating and facilities for spectators with mobility needs. Wheelchair spaces and companion seats are available in various stands, providing clear views of the pitch or stage. Accessible access routes, lifts, and ramps help guests reach their seats more easily, and accessible toilets are located near these seating areas. If you require assistance, contacting the stadium’s visitor services ahead of your visit can help ensure a smooth experience.

Twickenham Stadium Parking

Twickenham Stadium has several official car parks around the venue, including P1–P6, which open on match and event days. Parking can get busy, especially for concerts and large events, so arriving early or booking a space in advance is strongly recommended. Local streets also have resident permit zones, so be mindful of signage. Many visitors prefer using public transport (train or tube) from central London to avoid traffic and parking delays.

Visitors can check the stadium layout map shared above on the page for the parking location map.

Bag Policy & Security

For safety reasons, Twickenham operates a security screening at all entry points for concerts and sporting events. Small bags are permitted, but large backpacks, suitcases, coolers, and outside food or drink are generally restricted. Visitors are advised to carry only essentials to speed up entry, particularly during high-attended concerts.
